Maidstone & District Riding Club was founded over 70 years ago in 1948, with the aim of encouraging riding in the area. Instruction was offered at working rallies; the club ran shows and social events and outside visits.
We still run many clinics/training, fun rides, social events and some small competitions throughout the year, together with our larger Eventer’s Challenge show at Bonfleur Cross Country Course and our Ride for Life sponsored ride in Fairbourn Heath.
The Club is affiliated to the British Horse Society and so is run under the rules of British Riding Clubs. We are active members of our BRC Area 10 and send teams to compete at most qualifiers. Most years we have members qualifying for and competing at Riding Club National Championships.
Our members range from juniors to senior citizens, from those building confidence to others out there competing in affiliated disciplines – there is something for everyone, whatever size or type of horse or pony.
Activities are held around our area often using facilities offered by members but we also hire XC venues and indoor schools, as needed.
Our Club also offers lesser-known disciplines, such as TREC – we run training and competitions. Click the link to join MDRC. https://britishridingclubs.sport80.com/public/wizard/a/1433/home?fbclid=IwAR09Fj_Zc0TPWhTW-TN1CF83HbcQ_eYhsE5nZy_hl0E9OkKh4SSFtq0v4oE
