Teams

There are various Team Competitions run by British Riding Clubs throughout the year. These competitions allow members of Riding Clubs to compete at an Area level, in various disciplines over a range of levels, as teams and individuals. These competitions are for both seniors and juniors. If successful at Area level, there is then a National Championship competition.

We are in Area 10 and generally send teams to all the competitions. These are usually great fun and we have had a good deal of success too!

We have a team manager (sometimes called Chef D’Equipe) for each competition who will liaise with all team members and sort out all the entry paperwork. (There are a lot of rules regarding team competitions e.g. eligibility of horse and rider, tack allowed etc. together with very strict rules including Flu Vaccination certification – for the horse not the rider!) The Team Manager co-ordinates all this, but needs each individual’s help with providing the relevant information.

If you are interested in representing Maidstone & District Riding Club on a team, or just want to find out a bit more, please look up the team manager under the “Contact Us” tab. They will be pleased to hear from you and have a chat etc.

The BRC Area Competitions being offered are:

  • Winter Dressage (Prelim, Novice, Elementary & Medium)
  • Winter Show Jumping
  • Festival of the Horse – Combined Training
  • Festival of the Horse – Eventer’s Challenge
  • Horse Trials (80, 90, 100 and 100+)
  • Summer Dressage (Prelim, Novice, Elementary & Medium)
  • Dressage to Music

As schedules are available etc – there is more info on the Area 10 Website about these competitions.

There are also a few non-Area Qualifier Team events from time to time – Friendly Show Jumping competitions and Kent County Show Riding Club Team Jumping.
